these are my shapes the two cubes on the sides have 5 faces 8 edges and 8 vertices and the cylinder in the middle of the cubes has 2 faces 0 edges and 0 vertices I chose these shapes because they are shapes that I wouldn't usually choose and I wanted to try something different for a change.

Olympics
The Olympics
By Aiden
The first Olympics were held in Ancient
Greece in Olympia. In the modern Olympics only men were allowed to compete
until 1900, and then women were allowed to compete too.
Winners received silver medals, olive branches,
and paintings. The first Olympics where gold medals were given were in St Louis
in 1904.
I enjoy
watching the Olympics on the TV, and my favourite person is Usain Bolt who runs
really fast. I like watching the running and the swimming.

Neighbours
My dictionary says that neighbours are the people who live around you.
All of my neighbours are really nice. I can hear them in the garden lots.
We sometimes see Pippa the dog run past our house. Once I had to put her back over the fence at her house so that she wouldn’t get run over.
When we sold walnuts for $3 a bag some of our neighbours came over to buy some.
The total of the money was $15.

Scratch
In class I have been
learning about the points of the compass and directions.
This week I learnt about
a programme called Scratch which uses directions to create a little computer
program.
My job was to use Scratch to create something that could be shared with the rest of the class. What my Scratch was about was all down to me and my imagination! I had to be creative!
Click on the green flag to start and the red octagon
to stop.

Swimming Sports
Swimming Sports is where the Year 4s, 5s and 6s at Havelock North
Primary take part in swimming races in their houses. We then had to create a
voki for homework about one of the races.
Our voki needed to tell the class about our favourite race at
swimming sports and why we liked that one the best. We had to remember to hook
our listener in and give the audience lots of interesting information.
