The Olympics

The first Olympics were held in Ancient Greece in Olympia. In the modern Olympics only men were allowed to compete until 1900, and then women were allowed to compete too.

Winners received silver medals, olive branches, and paintings. The first Olympics where gold medals were given were in St Louis in 1904.

I enjoy watching the Olympics on the TV, and my favourite person is Usain Bolt who runs really fast. I like watching the running and the swimming.

Neighbours

My dictionary says that neighbours are the people who live around you.

All of my neighbours are really nice. I can hear them in the garden lots.

We sometimes see Pippa the dog run past our house. Once I had to put her back over the fence at her house so that she wouldn’t get run over.

When we sold walnuts for $3 a bag some of our neighbours came over to buy some.

The total of the money was $15.
